Kuvakennoja is a Finnish term that translates to "image sensors" in English. It refers to the electronic component within a digital camera, scanner, or other imaging device that captures light and converts it into a digital signal. These sensors are the fundamental element that allows for the creation of digital photographs and images.

There are two primary types of image sensors used in modern digital devices: CCD (Charge-Coupled Device) and CMOS (Complementary Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor).
