Korviketyyppejä refers to the different kinds of hearing aids available to people with hearing loss. These devices are designed to amplify sound and deliver it to the ear canal, making sounds more audible. The primary categories of hearing aids are based on their placement and how they are worn.

BTE hearing aids, or Behind-the-Ear, are the most traditional type. They rest behind the ear and connect to an earmold that sits in the ear canal via a clear tube. These are often suitable for mild to profound hearing losses and can accommodate a variety of features due to their larger size. RIC hearing aids, or Receiver-in-Canal, are a variation of BTEs. They are also worn behind the ear, but the receiver (speaker) is located in the earmold itself, with a thin wire connecting it to the main unit. This design is often smaller and less visible than traditional BTEs.

ITE hearing aids, or In-the-Ear, are custom-made to fit within the outer portion of the ear. They are larger than canal aids but can accommodate more features than smaller in-canal models. ITC hearing aids, or In-the-Canal, are also custom-made and fit into the ear canal, but are smaller than ITEs and partially visible. CIC hearing aids, or Completely-in-Canal, are the smallest custom-made devices, fitting almost entirely within the ear canal, making them very discreet.

Finally, invisible hearing aids are designed to be completely out of sight, often fitting deep within the ear canal. The choice of korviketyyppi depends on factors such as the degree of hearing loss, the shape of the ear, lifestyle, and personal preferences regarding visibility and features.
