Kondutivitet, often referred to as electrical conductivity, is a fundamental property of materials that describes their ability to conduct electric current. It is the inverse of electrical resistivity. A material with high conductivity allows electric charge to flow easily through it, while a material with low conductivity resists the flow of charge. This property is crucial in many scientific and engineering applications, from the design of electrical circuits to the understanding of biological processes.

The SI unit for electrical conductivity is siemens per meter (S/m). Conductivity is dependent on the material's atomic structure, temperature, and the presence of impurities or defects. Metals like copper and silver are excellent conductors due to the free movement of electrons in their metallic lattice.
