kokonaisvasteeseen
Kokonaisvasteeseen is the illative form of the Finnish noun kokonaisvaste. In engineering terminology, kokonaisvaste refers to the global or overall stiffness of a structure, i.e., the aggregated stiffness that governs how the structure deforms under loads. In finite element analysis, the global stiffness is represented by the stiffness matrix K, which relates nodal displacements u to applied forces f through the equation f = Ku. The global stiffness is formed by assembling the individual element stiffness matrices according to the structure’s connectivity, and it is typically symmetric and positive definite for linear elastic problems.
In Finnish technical texts, kokonaisvasteeseen may be used when describing actions or considerations directed toward the
Limitations of the concept arise from the assumptions underlying linear elasticity and small deformations. For nonlinear
