Kivonat is a Hungarian noun meaning an extract, excerpt, summary or statement. The term derives from the verb kivon (to take out, extract) with the nominal suffix -at. In everyday usage it denotes portions taken from a larger whole, selected summaries or official records.

In administrative and legal contexts kivonat commonly refers to certified extracts of public registers, for example anyakönyvi kivonat (civil registry extract) used as an official copy of birth, marriage or death entries. Banks issue számlakivonat, a periodic account statement summarizing transactions and balances. In bibliographic and archival practice, kivonat may indicate an excerpt or abstract of a document or record.
