Kinesiniminen refers to a class of motor proteins known as kinesins, which play a crucial role in intracellular transport within eukaryotic cells. These proteins are responsible for moving cargo along microtubules, a key component of the cytoskeleton, thereby facilitating various cellular processes such as organelle positioning, vesicle transport, and chromosome segregation during cell division.

Kinesins are characterized by their ability to hydrolyze adenosine triphosphate (ATP) to generate mechanical force, enabling directional movement along microtubules. The movement is typically bidirectional, with some kinesins moving toward the plus end (anterior) of microtubules, while others, such as dyneins, move toward the minus end (posterior).
