Keskustoimija is a Finnish term used in network theory, organizational studies and related fields to denote a central actor within a system. It refers to a node or entity that occupies a pivotal position for coordinating resources, information and activities among other actors in a network.

The concept emphasizes structural position and influence rather than formal authority alone. A keskustoimija typically facilitates communication, standardization, and collaboration, and can reduce transaction costs by aligning goals and actions across diverse participants. Its prominence often stems from a combination of access to information, recourse to resources, legitimacy, and established ties with multiple actors.

In practice, keskustoimija can appear in several domains. In governance networks, it might be a regional authority or a coordinating agency that links municipalities and service providers. In supply chains, a leading firm or logistics hub can function as the central actor that synchronizes suppliers, manufacturers and distributors.
