This technology is a critical component of modern automotive safety systems, particularly those designed to enhance stability, traction, and braking performance.

Wheel speed sensors are typically electromagnetic or magnetic inductive devices installed near the wheels, often in conjunction with the wheel hub or axle. They detect the passage of teeth on a toothed wheel ring (or tone ring) attached to the wheel hub or axle shaft. As the wheel rotates, the sensor generates electrical pulses proportional to the wheel's rotational speed, which are then processed by the vehicle's electronic control unit (ECU).
