In Hungary, disaster management is overseen by specialized governmental bodies. These entities are responsible for developing national disaster response strategies, coordinating rescue and relief efforts, and managing emergency services. They work in conjunction with local authorities, volunteer organizations, and international partners to effectively address disaster situations.

Preparation is a key component, involving training for emergency personnel and the public, maintaining stockpiles of essential supplies, and conducting drills and simulations. During a disaster, the focus shifts to immediate response, including search and rescue operations, providing medical assistance, ensuring shelter and food for affected populations, and restoring critical infrastructure.

Post-disaster recovery efforts aim to rebuild damaged areas, support affected communities in their return to normalcy, and learn lessons from the event to improve future disaster preparedness and response capabilities.
