Performance testing is crucial for ensuring a positive user experience, as slow or unresponsive applications can lead to user dissatisfaction and abandonment. It also helps in optimizing resource utilization, preventing system failures, and ensuring that the system meets its performance requirements and service level agreements (SLAs). The process typically involves defining performance goals, designing test scenarios, creating test data, executing tests, analyzing results, and making necessary adjustments to the system. Tools like JMeter, LoadRunner, and Gatling are commonly used to conduct these tests.
