Jäähdytysputket, known in English as cooling pipes or heat pipes, are passive heat transfer devices that utilize the phase change of a working fluid to transfer heat at a high rate. They are highly effective because the heat transfer occurs through evaporation and condensation within a sealed tube.

The basic structure of a jäähdytysputki consists of a sealed enclosure, typically a metal tube, and a working fluid. Inside the tube, a porous wick structure is often present, though some designs rely on capillary action from the tube's internal surface.
