In Hungary, Artisjus is the principal organization for composers, lyricists, and music publishers; it administers licenses and distributes royalties to rights holders based on usage data and agreed rules. Users such as broadcasters, venues, and online platforms typically obtain a license from Artisjus or pay directly to the rights holders.

Legal framework and purpose: Jogdíj is established by copyright law and licensing practices; the system aims to ensure creators receive fair compensation and to encourage continued creation. Internationally, uses can be covered by cross-border licenses or agreements, enabling the flow of royalties to rights holders in other countries.
