jezdnie
Jezdnia is the part of a road that is intended for the movement of motor vehicles. It constitutes the driving surface and is distinct from other elements of the roadway, such as sidewalks (chodnik), shoulders (pobocze), medians and road furniture. The jezdnia is typically surfaced with asphalt concrete or cement concrete and must withstand traffic loads, weather, and drainage requirements. It is divided into driving lanes, known as pas ruchu, whose number and width depend on the road category and traffic volume. On a two-way road with a single carriageway, a single jezdnia carries traffic in both directions; on divided roads there are two separate jezdnie, one for each direction, separated by a median or barrier.
The construction of a jezdnia includes a wearing course on top of base and subbase layers, with
Maintenance of the jezdnia involves resurfacing, patching, crack sealing, and the management of wear and deformation
