Jentilak refers to a group of mythical beings found in Basque folklore. These beings are often described as giants or primitive human-like creatures, typically depicted as powerful and living in the mountains or caves. They are associated with the pre-Christian past of the Basque Country, representing an ancient, indigenous population or even nature spirits.

The stories surrounding Jentilak vary, but they are generally portrayed as strong and sometimes clumsy figures. They are credited with building megalithic structures such as dolmens and menhirs, which are often referred to as "jentilbaratz" (Jentil gardens) or "jentilexe" (Jentil houses). Their existence is said to have predated the arrival of Christianity.

A common theme in Jentilak myths is their eventual decline or disappearance with the advent of the new religion. Some tales suggest they were either driven out, converted, or simply faded away as Christianity spread. The figure of Jentilbaratza, a jentil who reportedly threw himself from a cliff rather than convert, is a notable example.
