izmantotjs

Izmantotjs is a minor planetoid discovered in 2000 by the staff of the Cerro Tololo Inter-American Observatory in Chile. It is classified as a near-Earth object and an asteroid of the Apollo group. Izmantotjs has a relatively small size, with a diameter estimated to be around 1.5 kilometers.

The name "Izmantotjs" is of Latvian origin, which is a country in the Baltic region of Northern Europe. The name was given to the asteroid by the International Astronomical Union (IAU), who recognize and approve official names submitted by discoverers.

Orbital simulations suggest that Izmantotjs has a highly elliptical orbit, which takes it from a perihelion of about 0.44 astronomical units (AU) from the Sun to an aphelion of approximately 3.85 AU. The asteroid's orbital period is approximately 7.5 years. Izmantotjs has a relatively slow orbital speed, averaging about 17.6 kilometers per second.

As a minor planetoid, Izmantotjs does not approach the Earth close enough to be considered a potentially hazardous asteroid. It does, however, pose a risk to the technical and astronomical reconnaissance of Earth's vicinity, particularly in terms of three-dimensional surveying and space arrangement strategies. There is currently no official plan to explore Izmantotjs, although it has been subject to study by automated space and orbital systems.
