Intrapersoonlijk, or intrapersonal in English, refers to processes that occur within a single person rather than in interactions with others. The term is used in psychology, education, and self-development to describe internal mental and emotional activities such as thoughts, feelings, motives, and self-evaluation. Intrapersonal functioning includes self-awareness (recognizing one’s own emotions, values, and goals), self-regulation (modulating emotions and behavior to achieve long-term objectives), self-concept, and self-esteem.
