interSlavic

InterSlavic, also known as Medžuslovjansky or Medžuslovjanskij, is a constructed language designed to serve as a common language for the Slavic peoples. It was created by the linguist and Slavophile Ludvík Zamenhof, who is also known for creating Esperanto. The language is based on the common vocabulary and grammar of the Slavic languages, with a simplified phonology and orthography.

InterSlavic aims to facilitate communication among Slavic speakers and to promote cultural and political unity among the Slavic nations. It is not intended to replace any of the existing Slavic languages, but rather to supplement them. The language has a rich literary tradition, with works by authors such as Ivan Cankar, Ivan Franko, and Ivan Gončarov.

The InterSlavic alphabet is based on the Latin script, with some additional letters to represent sounds unique to the Slavic languages. The grammar of InterSlavic is relatively simple, with a subject-verb-object word order and a system of declensions and conjugations similar to those of the Slavic languages.

InterSlavic has a small but active community of speakers and learners, and there are various resources available for those interested in learning the language. The language is also used in some literary and cultural contexts, such as in the works of the InterSlavic Writers' Union. Despite its potential benefits, InterSlavic has not gained widespread adoption, and its future remains uncertain.
