Inkjettulostus, also known as inkjet printing, is a common type of digital printing technology. It works by propelling droplets of ink onto paper or other substrates. This is achieved through a print head that contains numerous tiny nozzles. The ink is then deposited in precise patterns to form the desired image or text.

There are two primary methods used in inkjet printing: thermal inkjet and piezoelectric inkjet. Thermal inkjet technology uses a heating element within the nozzle to rapidly heat the ink, creating a bubble of vapor. This bubble expels a droplet of ink onto the surface. Piezoelectric inkjet technology uses a piezoelectric crystal that changes shape when an electric voltage is applied. This deformation creates pressure waves that force ink droplets out of the nozzles.

Inkjet printers are widely used for both home and office environments due to their affordability, versatility, and ability to produce high-quality color prints. They are capable of printing on a variety of media, including plain paper, photo paper, cardstock, and even some fabrics. The technology is continuously evolving, with advancements in ink formulations and print head design leading to improved print speeds, resolution, and color accuracy.
