iadatea
Iadatea is a genus of extinct marine reptiles that belonged to the group of ichthyosaurs, which were highly specialized for aquatic life during the Mesozoic Era. The name *Iadatea* derives from the Greek words *iadatos* (meaning "of the sea") and *te* (a suffix indicating "belonging to"), reflecting its deep-seated connection to marine environments. Fossil remains of *Iadatea* have been discovered primarily in the Triassic-aged marine sediments of Argentina, particularly in the Ischigualasto Formation, dating back approximately 240–235 million years ago.
Iadatea is notable for its relatively small size, with estimated lengths ranging between 1.5 to 2 meters
Fossil evidence of *Iadatea* includes partial skulls, jaw fragments, and postcranial elements, which have been used
