Högdensitetsfiberboard, commonly known as HDF, is a type of engineered wood product. These fibers are then mixed with a synthetic resin, such as urea-formaldehyde or phenol-formaldehyde, and formed into a mat. This mat is then hot-pressed, compressing the fibers and curing the resin, creating a uniform and solid panel.

HDF is known for its strength, durability, and smooth surface. Its high density makes it resistant to impact and wear, and it can be machined and finished to a very high standard. It is often used in applications where a strong and stable material is required, such as furniture manufacturing, cabinet doors, and interior paneling. It is also a common substrate for laminate flooring, providing a stable and durable base for the decorative layer. Due to its consistent density and smooth surface, HDF is also suitable for decorative veneers and lacquered finishes. It is available in various thicknesses and can be cut and shaped to meet specific design requirements.
