Hårdkrom, also known as hard chrome plating, is a surface treatment process that deposits a thick layer of chromium onto a substrate, typically metal. Hårdkrom is applied using electroplating, where the part to be coated is immersed in a chromic acid solution and connected to an electrical current. The chromium ions from the solution are attracted to the negatively charged part, forming a hard, durable layer.
