Hyperkoagulaatiotilat, also known as hypercoagulable states or thrombophilia, are conditions characterized by an increased tendency for blood to clot. There are several categories of hypercoagulable states. Symptoms of hypercoagulable states vary depending on the location of the clot. Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a common manifestation, typically affects the legs and can cause swelling, pain, redness, and warmth. If a clot from a DVT travels to the lungs, it can cause a pulmonary embolism (PE), which may present with shortness of breath, chest pain, coughing, and rapid heart rate. Arterial clots can lead to strokes or heart attacks.

Diagnosis involves a combination of medical history, physical examination, and laboratory tests to assess the blood's clotting potential and identify specific genetic or acquired risk factors. Treatment focuses on preventing clot formation and treating existing clots, often with anticoagulant medications. Management also includes addressing underlying causes and lifestyle modifications to reduce risk.
