Hjärnhalvorna, or cerebral hemispheres, refer to the two distinct halves of the cerebrum, the largest part of the brain. These are the left hemisphere and the right hemisphere. They are separated by a deep groove called the longitudinal fissure, but are connected by a thick band of nerve fibers known as the corpus callosum, which facilitates communication between them.
