Habitatin is a concept in ecology and urban planning that refers to the deliberate creation, restoration, and management of habitats within existing landscapes to support biodiversity and ecosystem services. The term combines habitat with the suffix -in to emphasize intentional integration into human-dominated sectors. While not universally standardized, habitatin encompasses projects that modify physical structure, hydrology, and species composition to improve habitat quality.

Core practices include habitat creation (building ponds, wetlands, woodlands, hedgerows), restoration of degraded sites (reinstating natural hydrology, soil conditions, native plant communities), and enhancement of connectivity (ecological corridors). Management often relies on native species, disturbance regimes that mimic natural processes, and the inclusion of microhabitats such as fallen logs, rock piles, and varied ground cover.

Applications are common in urban green infrastructure, agricultural biodiversity schemes, and conservation programs. In cities, habitatin features such as green roofs, parks, and roadside verges can provide refugia for pollinators and birds, while in agricultural settings they support crop pollination and pest control services.
