Grylloblattids, also known as ice crawlers or rock crawlers, are a small order of insects with approximately 30 known species. They are notable for their unusual combination of features, resembling both crickets (Gryllidae) and cockroaches (Blattodea), hence their scientific name. These insects are found exclusively in cold, mountainous regions of Asia, primarily in Siberia, Mongolia, China, and Japan. They inhabit cool, damp environments such as caves, under rocks, and in mossy areas, often at high altitudes.
Grylloblattids are characterized by their elongated, flattened bodies, long antennae, and cerci. They are wingless in
