Gobells are fictional woodland beings described in folklore and contemporary fantasy. They are typically depicted as small, goblin-like creatures about 20–30 centimeters tall, with rounded bodies and pointed ears. The name gobell is thought to derive from goblin and the image of small bells that accompany them in some traditions.

They inhabit temperate forests, hedgerows, and ruins of old stone buildings, favoring damp, leaf-covered ground. They often make simple nests from leaves, moss, and twigs in hollow trees or rock crevices. They are nocturnal and elusive.

Gobells are omnivorous, feeding on insects, berries, fungi, and eggs. They live in small family groups and communicate with chirps, whistles, and scent marks. In some traditions, their presence is announced by faint bells carried by clan members, serving as a social signal.

Reproduction varies by source; spring is commonly cited as the breeding period. Litters range from two to four, with young staying for several weeks before independence. Lifespans are described as several years.

In culture, gobells appear in folklore, fairy tales, and fantasy fiction as mischievous forest dwellers, guardians of small wonders, or companions. There is no scientific evidence for their existence; they remain fictional elements in stories and world-building.
