gassforsyningen
Gassforsyningen (Norwegian for natural gas supply) refers to the system and processes that deliver natural gas from production to end users for heating, cooking, and industrial use. The system comprises several linked stages: upstream extraction and processing to meet quality standards; high-pressure transmission networks that move gas over long distances; distribution networks that lower pressure and bring gas to homes and businesses; storage facilities to balance supply and demand; and metering, billing, and customer services that connect end users to the gas grid. Gas enters the system after processing, is transported by transmission operators, and is gradually distributed by local distribution companies. Throughout the network, pressure is controlled, and quality and safety standards are enforced.
Safety and regulation are central: authorities set requirements for pipeline integrity, odorization to aid leak detection,
Environmental and technological developments influence gassforsyningen. Efforts target reducing methane leaks, increasing energy efficiency, and integrating
