Gasketit is a family of gasket materials designed to form reliable seals in mechanical joints such as flanged connections and valve housings. It targets demanding environments where temperature, pressure, and chemical exposure challenge traditional gaskets.

Formulations are typically composite materials combining a heat-stable matrix with reinforcing fillers. Common ingredients include graphite, PTFE, ceramic fillers, elastomeric binders, and aramid fibers. Some grades are reinforced with metal or fabric backing to resist extrusion under high pressure.

Gasketit is produced as sheets, pre-cut gaskets, or laminated tapes, and offered in a range of thicknesses and durometers. Properties often include high thermal stability, chemical compatibility, low permeability, and controlled creep, enabling stable seals over long service intervals.

Applications span petrochemical processing, power generation, chemical manufacturing, and water treatment, among others. Proper use requires selecting the appropriate grade for the temperature, chemical exposure, and flange design, plus correct surface finish, seating, and bolt load to avoid leaks or gasket relaxation.

In testing, gasketit products are evaluated for leak rate, thermal cycling, and compatibility with fluids. They are positioned as an intermediate to high-end option relative to conventional elastomers or graphite, with trade-offs between cost and service life depending on the application.
