A displacement sensor, known in Swedish as a förskjutningssensor, is a device that measures the position or displacement of an object. These sensors convert a physical displacement into an electrical signal that can be interpreted by other electronic systems. There are various types of displacement sensors, each operating on different physical principles. Inductive sensors, for example, detect changes in magnetic inductance caused by the movement of a metallic target.
