Futzal, commonly spelled futsal, is a five-a-side indoor variant of association football played on a hard court, usually indoors, with a smaller ball that has a low bounce. The sport is governed internationally by FIFA under futsal regulations, although a separate body, AMF, also runs its own world championships. The term futsal derives from Portuguese futebol de salão and Spanish fútbol sala.
