Fundargerðir is a term used in several Nordic languages to denote the formal written record of a meeting held by a council, board, committee, or similar body. They serve as the official account of what was discussed, what decisions were made, and what actions were assigned.

A fundargerð typically includes several standard elements. These may include metadata such as date, time, and location; a list of participants and any absentees; the agenda; a summary of the discussion and statements of the participants; the decisions or resolutions adopted, with any voting results; and the follow-up actions assigned to individuals or committees, often with deadlines. References to documents considered during the meeting and any attachments or appendices are commonly included. Some fundargerðir distinguish between the draft version and the final approved version.

Process and accessibility are governed by governance practices and applicable laws. In many organizations, the minutes are drafted by the secretary or designated minute-taker and then reviewed and approved at a subsequent meeting. After approval, fundargerðir are archived for record-keeping and may, depending on the jurisdiction and the organization, be published or made available to the public. Access to the minutes can be subject to confidentiality restrictions, especially for sensitive or legally protected information.

Purpose and use are centered on accountability, transparency, and continuity. Fundargerðir provide a reference point for decisions, support implementation of policies, and serve as a formal record for auditing, legal review, and future planning. They are a common instrument in public authorities, corporations, associations, and other organized bodies.
