Fujar, also known as Fujara or Fužara, is a traditional overtone, or fipple, flute originating from Slovakia. It is a member of the duct flute family, similar to a recorder, but distinguished by its unique construction and sound. The fujar is characterized by its long, cylindrical body, typically made of wood, often elder, with a finger hole system and a distinctive fipple or duct at one end. This duct directs air against a sharp edge, producing a continuous tone.

The fujar is known for its melancholic and ethereal sound, often described as haunting or meditative. Its overtone capabilities allow skilled players to produce multiple notes and harmonic textures, creating a rich and complex soundscape.
