Slovakian

Slovakian is an adjective used to denote something related to Slovakia, its people, or its culture. In contemporary English, Slovak is the preferred term for both the people (a Slovak) and the language (the Slovak language). Slovakian appears in some contexts, including older writings or as a stylistic variant (for example, Slovakian folklore or Slovakian cuisine).

Historically, the territory of Slovakia was part of Great Moravia, later under the Kingdom of Hungary, and

Bratislava.
The
country
covers
about
49,000
square
kilometers
and
has
a
population
of
around
5.4
million.
The
official
language
is
Slovak,
a
West
Slavic
language
written
in
the
Latin
alphabet
with
diacritics.
Minority
languages
include
Hungarian,
Romani,
and
Ukrainian
in
some
regions.

an
independent
state
on
January
1,
1993,
after
the
peaceful
dissolution
of
Czechoslovakia.
It
is

member
of
the
European
Union

culture
features
traditional
folk
music
and
crafts,
with
notable
landscapes
in
the
Tatra
mountains
and
many
medieval
towns
and
castles.
