Frameadres is a term used in Dutch-language technical literature to denote the address of a fixed-size block called a frame within a larger address space. The precise meaning of frameadres varies by domain, but it generally refers to locating or identifying a specific frame.

In memory management, frames are fixed-size blocks of physical memory. The frame address indicates the starting physical address of a frame. In paging, virtual addresses are translated to physical addresses by combining the frame address with an offset, allowing access to stored data.

In data communication and analysis, a frame can refer to a unit of data in a stream or protocol. The concept of a frame address in this context may refer to the frame’s position, sequence, or identifier within a transmission. Note that fields used to identify a frame in network protocols (such as MAC addresses) are typically not described as a “frame address”; the term is more commonly applied to memory frames or to the frame’s position in a data sequence.

Examples of the concept include specifying that a particular frame starts at a given physical address, such as a frame address of 0x0012 with a 4 KB frame size, meaning the frame begins at 0x0012 and data within the frame is addressed by adding an offset. Frameadres thus functions as a basic reference point in both memory and data framing contexts.
