Fragmentaci is a term used in several languages to denote fragmentation, the process by which a whole is broken into parts. In scholarly and technical contexts, fragmentaci refers to the emergence of fragmented structures, spaces, or datasets and to the effects these divisions have on function, connectivity, or cohesion.

In ecology and environmental science, fragmentation often describes habitat fragmentation: the division of continuous landscapes into smaller, isolated patches by roads, agriculture, or urban development. In social and economic contexts, fragmentation describes the division of markets or societies into distinct, noncommunicating segments. This can reflect or reinforce differences in preference, access, or policy impact, with implications for planning, governance, and social cohesion.
