flotaatiossa
Flotaatio, or flotation in mineral processing, is a separation technique used to concentrate valuable minerals by making certain particles hydrophobic so they attach to air bubbles and rise to the surface as a froth. In Finnish texts the word flotaatiossa denotes the stage or condition of being in flotation. The method is widely applied to sulfide ores, as well as to coal and certain industrial minerals.
The basic principle involves grinding ore to a fine size, then conditioning the slurry with chemical reagents.
Common equipment includes flotation cells, both mechanical and pneumatic, which provide mixing and bubble generation, and
Applications span base metals like copper, zinc, and lead sulfides, as well as nickel, silver, and platinum
