Applications span software design, media and storytelling, games, and data practices. A femalecoded interface might prioritize accessibility and communal features; a femalecoded narrative centers diverse female experiences; in AI, training data and annotation schemes may seek to reduce bias by foregrounding female perspectives.

Critics caution that the label can risk essentializing gender or reproducing stereotypes; supporters argue that it highlights underrepresented viewpoints and prompts more inclusive design.
