feltekerése

Feltekerése refers to a chemical process in which a metal is subjected to rapid heating and cooling cycles in the presence of a flux. This process causes the metal to expand and contract repeatedly, resulting in the formation of a range of crystalline structures within the material. The precise nature of these structures can vary significantly, depending on the specific conditions of the process and the properties of the starting metal.

The term "feltekerése" is derived from Hungarian and is similar to other European languages, where it is more commonly referred to as "quenching" or "tempering". The process itself is an adaptation of these European techniques, extensively developed for domestic use.

In order to execute the process, pieces of metal are usually heated up to very high temperatures, either through a specific electric furnace, or through intense friction in a special drum. Following heating, the metal is rapidly cooled in a flux material. This is often done in a bath of sand or powdered limestone (oxide) of other percolating tasks.
