fasadowy

Fasadowy is an adjective in Polish that describes things related to the façade, the exterior face or envelope of a building. The term is derived from fasada (facade) with the common Polish adjective suffix -owy. Its etymology is linked to the word for the outer front of a structure and to the architectural vocabulary borrowed from earlier European languages.

In architecture and construction, fasadowy is used to designate elements, systems, or work that concern the building’s exterior. Examples include fasadowy system ocieplenia i elewacji (facade insulation and cladding systems), fasadowa elewacja (facade cladding), or fasadowe prace remontowe (exterior renovation work). The word also appears in phrases describing design or renovation focused on appearance of the exterior rather than interior or structural aspects.

In a figurative sense, fasadowy can imply superficiality or outward appearance without substance, such as a fasadowy remont aimed at improving aesthetics rather than long-term performance. While common in construction and real estate discourse, this usage highlights the contrast between visible exterior changes and underlying qualities.
