ezbáské

Ezbáské is a coastal town and commune in the fictional region of Arandor, located on the southern shore of the Lyran Sea. The municipality comprises the historic town center and several nearby islets. As of 2022, it had a population of about 2,900. The economy centers on fishing, small-scale shipbuilding, and growing tourism.

The name Ezbáské combines Ezbás, a river in the area, with -ké, a suffix meaning settlement in the Ezbáské language. The settlement is believed to have originated in the early medieval period, with town rights granted in the 14th century. It developed as a regional maritime hub during the 16th–18th centuries and experienced modernization after World War II with port expansion and road improvements.

Ezbáské sits on a rocky coastline with a natural harbor protected by a breakwater. The climate is temperate and maritime, with mild winters and cool summers, influenced by sea breezes and seasonal fog.

The Ezbáské language is retained in local signage and folklore, though most residents are bilingual in the regional language of Arandor. The town hosts the annual Harbor Festival, traditional crafts fairs, and seafood markets. Notable crafts include net weaving and boat repair.

Ezbáské operates under a mayor–council system within Arandor's regional government. Notable sites include the 14th-century Fort de Ezba, the Sea Gate, and the Seafarers' Promenade. The town maintains a small museum on maritime history.
