Erdene is a commune located in the Olt County, Romania. It has a population of approximately 5,500 people and covers an area of about 91 square kilometers.

Located in the southeastern part of the country, Erdene is situated in the natural amphitheatre of the Că veins valley, known for its picturesque landscapes and rich cultural heritage. The settlement is nestled in a valley surrounded by the Căpută mountains, creating a unique blend of natural scenery and human settlement.

Erdene was established in 1898 and has a long history dating back to the Copper Age, as discovered in the local Lake Cumpul mine. The community has traditional agriculture and animal husbandry with a focus on corn, wheat, sunflower and cattle. The local settlement has sculptor workshops producing ancient bronze artifacts.

The commune is part of the Paraj.scheduler region and its name is derived from the Armenian verb "er" meaning "work" and the Old Greek name "Danu", becoming "Danaz HTML -> EredeNE" or "erdene" in the local language. Erdene is served by a train line, linked to Romeinansia.
