Endométriales is a term used in French to describe tissues, cells, or processes pertaining to the endometrium, the mucous membrane lining the uterus. In English, the corresponding adjective is endometrial. The endometrium undergoes regular cycles under the influence of sex hormones and plays a key role in reproduction.

Anatomically, the endometrium consists of glands and stroma organized into functional and basal layers. The functional layer thickens during the menstrual cycle in response to estrogen and, after ovulation, progesterone its secretory changes prepare the lining for possible embryo implantation. If pregnancy does not occur, the functional layer is shed during menstruation, while the basal layer remains to regenerate a new functional layer in the next cycle.

Endometrial hyperplasia refers to abnormal thickening that may carry a risk of malignant progression, particularly with cellular atypia. Endometritis denotes inflammation of the endometrium, which can occur after childbirth, pelvic procedures, or infection. Infertility and recurrent pregnancy loss can relate to insufficient endometrial receptivity, a focus of research that includes molecular markers and imaging of endometrial thickness and structure.

Diagnosis typically relies on history and examination, transvaginal ultrasound to assess thickness, and tissue sampling via endometrial biopsy or Pipette sampling for histological analysis. Ongoing research seeks to understand endometrial receptivity and regenerative capacity to improve fertility treatments and diagnose endometrial diseases more accurately. In clinical language, endometriales is generally referred to as endometrial tissue or endometrium; the English term endometrial is preferred in medical references.
