Objectivism argues for a morality of egoism, asserting that life is the ultimate value and that the pursuit of one's own life and happiness is the highest moral purpose. Critics of egoism often raise concerns about its potential to justify harmful behavior and its perceived inability to account for genuine altruism or the well-being of society as a whole.
