diffúzor

A diffúzor (diffuser) is a device designed to disperse liquids or fragrances into the surrounding air as a fine mist or vapor. It is commonly used in aromatherapy and interior scenting to release essential oils (diluted in a carrier) or pure oil droplets, and some models also function as humidifiers by emitting water vapor.

Diffúzors employ several diffusion methods. Ultrasonic diffúzors use high-frequency vibrations to create a cool mist from water and oil. Nebulizing diffúzs atomize undiluted essential oil directly into the air. Evaporative diffúzors draw oil through a wick or cartridge and disperse it with a fan. Heat diffúzors apply gentle heat to release volatile compounds; this method is less common due to potential changes in aroma and oil quality.

Typical components include a reservoir, the diffusion mechanism (ultrasonic plate, nebulizer, wick, or cartridge), and controls for duration or intensity; some models add ambient LEDs or timers.

Uses and considerations: diffusion is used for scenting and aromatherapy, creating ambience, or adding humidity. Safety notes include avoiding excessive exposure, using oils appropriate for indoor use, and keeping diffúzors away from children and pets. Some essential oils can irritate skin or mucous membranes and may interact with medical conditions.

Maintenance: regular cleaning after use prevents residue and mold; rinse the reservoir and diffusing mechanism with water and mild detergent as recommended by the manufacturer. Use high-quality oils to minimize buildup.
