Didaktika, or didactics, is the theory and practice of teaching and learning. It concerns how knowledge is selected, organized, and presented (what to teach), the methods and structures used to convey it (how to teach), and how learners comprehend, apply, and reflect on what they have learned. The field distinguishes between general didactics, which addresses overarching principles of instruction, and fachdidaktik (subject didactics), which adapts those principles to specific disciplines such as mathematics, language, or science.
