Dermolipillat refers to a specific type of benign skin tumor. These growths are often found on the skin and are characterized by their fatty tissue composition. The term "dermolipoma" is sometimes used interchangeably. While they are not cancerous and do not spread, they can sometimes cause cosmetic concerns or discomfort depending on their size and location.

The exact cause of dermolipillat is not fully understood, but they are believed to develop from abnormal cell growth within the skin. They typically appear as soft, movable lumps under the skin. Their appearance can vary, but they are often flesh-colored or slightly yellowish. These growths are generally slow-growing and do not typically cause pain unless they are large enough to press on nerves or are in an area prone to friction.

Diagnosis of a dermolipillat is usually made through a physical examination. In some cases, imaging techniques such as ultrasound or MRI might be used to further assess the lesion, especially if it is deep-seated or its nature is uncertain. Treatment is generally not required unless the dermolipillat is causing functional issues, is cosmetically undesirable, or if there is any doubt about the diagnosis. Surgical excision is the most common method for removal, which is usually a straightforward procedure with a good prognosis for recovery. Recurrence is uncommon after complete removal.
