Databassprog is a digital audio workstation (DAW) software that was created specifically for the composing and recording of music. It is generally perceived as a multi-channel, multi-technology, and structured real-time music generation system. The program is typically employed in conjunction with hardware synthesizers and effects processors.

Developed in the late 1980s, Databassprog originally ran on MS-DOS and later expanded to be compatible with other operating systems, including those built for the Commodore Amiga and Atari ST. Utilization consists of either carrying out manual commands or the incorporation of external controllers and graphical user interfaces.

Design aspects of Databassprog include a visual sequence editor for synchronizing music patterns and access to hardware synthesizer and effects units, as well as video output, providing a means to display stored and processed music patterns, and control functions to resemble a ribbon console.
