dacryocystectomy
Dacryocystectomy is a surgical procedure to remove the lacrimal sac. The lacrimal sac is a small reservoir located at the inner corner of the eye socket, responsible for collecting tears from the lacrimal canaliculi and draining them into the nasal cavity via the nasolacrimal duct. Removal of this sac is typically performed when it is diseased or significantly obstructed and cannot be adequately treated by other methods.
The most common indication for dacryocystectomy is chronic dacryocystitis, an infection of the lacrimal sac. This
