Coveragea is a coined term used in information science and service planning to denote a standardized measure of coverage completeness within a geographic area. The term blends coverage with the suffix -a to imply a formal metric or framework for evaluating how well a service, dataset, or amenity reaches the intended area.

Coveragea quantifies the extent to which a defined region is within the effective reach of a service or the completeness of a dataset. It is often expressed as a ratio or percentage, with optional weighting for factors such as recency, quality, or accessibility.

Coveragea can be computed as area_covered divided by total_area, using spatial data and time-stamped observations. Analyses may be performed at grid cells, administrative units, or custom regions, and can incorporate multiple criteria.

In telecommunications, coveragea helps map network reach and identify gaps. In urban planning and public health, it assesses service delivery coverage, such as vaccination programs or emergency response times. In GIS, it assesses data completeness.

As a relatively new term, coveragea lacks universal standardization. Researchers propose guidelines on granularity, update frequency, and validation methods, with adoption varying by organization and region.
