Condômino refers to a system of property ownership common in many countries, particularly in Portuguese-speaking nations, where multiple individuals jointly own a single property. This often applies to apartment buildings, townhouses, or complexes with shared common areas. Each owner possesses a private unit and also holds an undivided share in the common elements, which can include hallways, elevators, swimming pools, gardens, and structural components of the building.

The administration and maintenance of the condominium are typically managed by a condominium association or syndicate, elected by the owners. This body is responsible for enforcing the condominium's internal regulations, collecting fees for common expenses (known as condo fees or "taxa condominial"), and overseeing repairs and upkeep of shared spaces. Owners are obligated to pay these fees, which cover services like security, cleaning, landscaping, and insurance for the common areas.

Decisions regarding the condominium's management and significant expenditures are usually made during general assembly meetings where all owners have the right to vote. The rights and responsibilities of each condômino are outlined in a condominium convention or bylaws.
